What is commonly called 100% human hair extensions is infact brushed Indian hair and not temple hair from one donor. Hundreds of thousands of Indian women gather the hair that is collected in their brushes and this hair is different lengths, thickness and colour. This method of collection results in balls of yarn where the hair lies disorganised in many directions.

Because of the different directions the hair is lying, and in order for the hair to be used, it is necessary to submit the hair to an acid treatment. This process is to strip the hair of its cuticle layer and prevent it from the tangling caused by inverted cuticle layers. In order to thin the hair out and give it a softer texture, this brushed hair must undergo an aggressive chemical treatment that destroys the hair cuticle c layer, leaving it opaque and fragile. The hair is covered with a silicon layer which gives it a healthy look, but this protection has a short life. In the beginning, the hair seems shiny and beautiful, but after a few washes the silicone layer starts to wash away and the hair becomes dull and brittle again, thus resulting in serious matting and discomfort.
